School project a great success!
Upper primary school pupils of 'OBS de Uilenspiegel' in Boekel experience WWII
We (group 6-7-8 B of 'OBS de Uilenspiegel' in Boekel) worked on a project about the Second World War. It was really very interesting and made even more special by the Wings of Liberation museum, because they lent us a lot of material, which made us feel like we actually lived at the time of the Second World War!

There were war time rationing vouchers, real helmets, an old ID card, an ordnance map from a German pilot, lots of large posters, pictures and many other things! We used them to create a sort of mini-museum about the Second World War in the corner of our classroom . Others found our project cool as well so a lot of other children and parents came to have a look. Shortly we will even go and visit the museum for real, we can hardly wait!

We want to thank the Wings of Liberation museum for all the material that we were allowed to borrow and if other schools or institutions are thinking about projects like this, do get in touch with this museum. The volunteers are always more than happy to help out and to come up with ideas. A project about the Second World War becomes a real-life experience like this!
