One of the major objectives of the museum is to provide today's youth with a clear picture of events in the period 1930 to 1945. In order to make the visit more effective, the museum has developed a hand-out for pupils in upper primary and lower secondary education which covers the following topics:
- The emergence of the National Socialism 1918 - 1939
- The beginning of World War II
- Occupation of the Netherlands
- Concentration Camps
- Liberation
- Operation Market Garden
- The railway strike and the Hunger Winter
- The end of World War II
There are also a number of questions / tasks that rely on pupils to work independently. If you would like to receive a copy of the hand-out, please send an email to
